Tis the Season for Giving!

December 30th, 2007

This holiday season do the right thing and get rewarded for it.  Your PC$ can be donated to non-profits just like cash.  In Hawaii we have some great 501 c3 organizations.

The Windward YMCA is one of nine branches of the YMCA of Honolulu, whose mission is putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Windward Branch serves the communities of Kaneohe, Kailua and Waimanalo, providing health and fitness programs, child care programs, teen programs and swim lessons. Donations support our ongoing Financial Assistance for children, teens and adults who otherwise could not afford Y programs. Our generous donors help 200-300 low-income individuals per year take part in programs that build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

Winners Camp - Winner’s Camp, Hawai’i Leadership Academy, is a one-week retreat, designed to enhance teenagers’ academic performance and social proficiency, giving them the tools to make positive choices.
Kokua Mau – They do adult day care for mentally disabled.

PCX Tip #6

December 28th, 2007

Todays tip has to do with finding services that may not already be available in our membership. I am going to use the example of having work done on your house, but it can really apply to most any category of product or service. The process just involves a few steps that you are probably going to do any way and can result in getting some great new ways to use your PC$. You just need to get some estimates, get the owner or manager’s contact information and let them know we will be contacting them to discuss the job.

Step one is to get a few estimates. Let’s say for example you need a new roof on your house. You are probably going to contact some roofing contractors to get an estimate any way. So, you want to contact some roofing contractors that do work in your area and ask them to give you an estimate on the work. This will give you a general idea of how much it is going to cost. You will know that they are able to do the work that you need. And, you will know that they are available in your area.

Step two is to get the contact information for the owner of the company or their main manager. This step might be a little more involved, because you may only be working with a sales person. But, this will lead right into step number three.

Step three is to let them know that we will be contacting them to discuss the job. So, you can just let the sales person know that you are interested in having the work done, but that you are a member of PCX, it has helped to bring you new business, and you would like to have Joe Lopez contact them to discuss handling payment through us. You don’t have to try to convince them to do your job on PCX. It’s our job to explain the system to them.

And step four is to give us the contact information and the estimates. We will contact them and see which one would be interested in doing the work through PCX.

This is a fairly simple process to get new things that you need, which may not already be available in the PCX system. By following this process you are sure to find a company that services your neighborhood and the company will meet the criteria needed for your job. And even if the company doesn’t want to join PCX, we often find that they may be interested in one item that we have just to do your job.

Todays Tip: Find new ways to use your PC$ by getting estimates.

PCX Sale at Pacific Diamond and Swiss Watch is over.

December 12th, 2007

Here’s what one of our Members had to say about their experience.

“We announced that we were PCX members right away. The following service we experienced was outstanding -  they were extremely helpful and pleasant from start to finish. Ted had stepped out for a few minutes and we had to leave without thanking him but wanted you to know that we enjoyed the time we spent with his staff looking at many pieces before making final decisions. They were great.  Thank you Ted K. and staff. “

PCX Success Story from one of our Members

December 12th, 2007

“My brother really likes his futon.  He made a special place for it in
his living room.  He said the cover was really nice.  If I had to buy it
with cash  I could not do it right now for my brother.  Trade allowed me
to do something nice for him and now he is really happy.”
